Jammu & Kashmir — In a decisive show of strength and self-reliance, the Indian Army deployed indigenous defence systems during Operation Sindoor at the Line of Control (LoC), effectively countering enemy aggression. The use of homegrown artillery and equipment under the Government of India's Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative marked a significant stride toward achieving military independence and operational excellence.
According to defence sources, Operation Sindoor highlighted the capabilities of Made-in-India artillery guns, which played a vital role in suppressing enemy fire and eliminating terror infrastructure across the border. This deployment is seen as a milestone in India’s push for indigenous defence manufacturing and the integration of locally developed systems in frontline operations.
“These systems not only matched global standards but delivered with precision under intense combat conditions,” said an officer familiar with the operation.
The Indian Army has increasingly relied on advanced surveillance, radar systems, and heavy artillery developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian private defence firms. This synergy reflects the broader strategic shift toward self-reliance in critical sectors like national defence.
