Bhubaneswar, Odisha | In a recent announcement, Manorama Mohanty, Director of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Bhubaneswar, reported the formation of a low-pressure system over the West Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal near the North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coast. This meteorological phenomenon is expected to bring significant rainfall activity to Odisha over the next few days.
"A low pressure has formed over West Central Bay of Bengal, adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal of North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coast due to which rainfall activity will be there during the next three days over Odisha," Mohanty stated. She further mentioned that light to moderate rain is likely to occur in the region within the next 24 hours.
Residents of Odisha are advised to prepare for the upcoming weather changes, as the IMD expects the rainfall to potentially affect various sectors, including agriculture and daily life.
