Lord Rami Ranger has announced plans to legally challenge the Forfeiture Committee’s decision to revoke his Commander of the British Empire (CBE) honor. The businessman and community leader, who received the accolade for his contributions to British business and community cohesion, expressed deep disappointment, calling the process unfair and lacking transparency.

According to a spokesperson for Lord Ranger, the forfeiture was based on dated complaints and statements he had already addressed with public apologies, rehabilitative training, and other corrective measures. Notably, the complaints included his comments about anti-India activities, criticism of a BBC documentary on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and a past social media dispute with journalist Poonam Joshi.

“These matters were previously reviewed, and corrective actions were taken. The decision to revisit resolved issues is both unfair and troubling,” the spokesperson said.

Lord Ranger emphasized that he has committed no crime, distinguishing his case from the majority of forfeitures tied to criminal offenses. He accused the Forfeiture Committee of undermining the principles of natural justice, citing a lack of proper engagement and transparency in the decision-making process.

Highlighting his extensive contributions to the UK over 30 years, including the establishment of community forums, significant charitable donations, and his business achievements, Lord Ranger questioned the fairness of the process.

“The decision appears to penalize an individual for exercising free speech,” his statement read.

Lord Ranger intends to pursue redress through judicial review and other legal avenues. He remains committed to his work in promoting community cohesion and supporting charitable causes despite the setback. “I will fight to clear my name and restore my honor,” he vowed.
