LoP Jairam Thakur Criticizes Himachal Governor’s Address, Calls It Lengthy and Misleading

Shimla, March 10, 2025: Leader of Opposition in Himachal Pradesh, Jairam Thakur, criticized the address delivered by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla in the State Assembly, calling it unnecessarily long and lacking substance.

Speaking to the media after the session, Thakur remarked that while they respected the Governor, the address itself was drafted by the government. “The speech lasted for 1.5 hours. Such addresses usually highlight achievements, but when there are none, they just make it longer,” he said.

He further alleged that several statements in the address were misleading and did not reflect the ground reality. “There were many things in the speech that were not true,” he added, without specifying particular claims.
