Legal Advisor to Karnataka CM Slams ED Over MUDA Scam Report

Bengaluru, Karnataka: AS Ponnanna, Legal Advisor to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has strongly criticized the Enforcement Directorate (ED) following its submission of a report on the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam to the Lokayukta.

“The ED has lost the confidence of the people of this country. This incident which happened yesterday, is another nail in the coffin,” Ponnanna stated, alleging that the ED had overstepped its jurisdiction and acted unlawfully.

Ponnanna claimed that the ED’s actions reflect a clear political agenda, accusing it of functioning as an extension of the BJP. “In both these actions, the ED has made it clear that it is a political arm of the BJP,” he remarked.

The MUDA scam investigation has become a politically sensitive issue in Karnataka, with opposition parties accusing central agencies of being used to target state governments led by rival parties. Ponnanna’s remarks underscore the growing tensions between state and central authorities over the role of investigative agencies in politically charged cases.
