Haridwar: Train services between Haridwar, Dehradun, and Rishikesh were disrupted on Monday after a landslide struck the Mansa Devi hills near Har Ki Pauri, sending large boulders tumbling onto the railway tracks.

According to officials, the incident occurred in Bhimgoda near the Kali temple, where debris from the hillside obstructed the rail route. The Haridwar-Dehradun-Rishikesh line, a key connection for pilgrims and tourists visiting the region, was brought to a halt as authorities began clearance operations.

Government Railway Police (GRP) Superintendent of Police Aruna Bharti confirmed the development, stating that immediate steps were taken to stop train movements on the affected section to ensure passenger safety. Railway officials and local authorities have deployed teams and machinery to remove the boulders and restore services at the earliest.

The landslide, triggered by ongoing monsoon activity, highlights the region’s vulnerability to natural disruptions, especially during the rainy season. Passengers have been advised to check updated schedules and train statuses before travel.
