Hyderabad, June 11 — As former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) appeared before the P.C. Gosh Commission probing alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, his son and BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) launched a scathing counterattack, accusing both the Congress and the BJP of orchestrating a coordinated political smear campaign.

KTR defended the integrity of the multi-crore Kaleshwaram project, calling it a landmark development initiative that comprises over 100 components. “Out of 85 pillars in one barrage, only two have suffered damage, and that too seems to be due to sabotage—possibly orchestrated by Congress miscreants,” he alleged during a press interaction in Hyderabad.

He dismissed concerns about structural failures, claiming that the rest of the system is fully operational and intact. “The Congress and BJP are working hand-in-hand to discredit a project that has benefited Telangana immensely,” KTR asserted.

He also called for other political parties and the commission to look beyond what he termed as politically motivated accusations. “KCR and BRS have done no wrong. The truth will ultimately prevail,” he said.
