Delhi: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led Telangana government, accusing it of oppressive practices in land acquisition. Speaking in Delhi, KTR highlighted the plight of victims from Kodangal, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao's constituency, whose family members were jailed amid disputes over forceful land acquisitions.

KTR said, “The atrocious behaviour of the administration in Telangana has now become a talking point in Delhi. All victims whose family members have been jailed since the forceful land acquisition began in Kodangal have come to Delhi and met with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), the National Commission for Women (NCW), the National Commission for Scheduled Castes, and the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes.”

Expressing hope for justice, he added, “We are hopeful that their plea will get the needed attention and that the state government will be asked for an explanation.”

Taking a direct jab at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, KTR questioned his silence on the alleged suffering of Telangana residents under the governance of his party. “What does Rahul Gandhi, the protector of the Constitution and Dalits, have to say now about the suffering of the people of Telangana?”

KTR’s remarks bring attention to growing tensions over land acquisition policies in Telangana and signal a larger political confrontation as the BRS and Congress gear up for the upcoming elections. The issue is expected to intensify debates on governance and accountability in the state.
