Hyderabad | Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) launched a pointed critique at the Congress party, accusing it of political hypocrisy over its stance on the Enforcement Directorate (ED). He challenged Congress to take a definitive position on the agency it once empowered and now criticizes.

“Congress must decide whether ED is right or wrong. ED was started by Congress. They misused the CBI and other institutes... Now, it is the BJP's turn to misuse ED,” KTR said, addressing reporters in Hyderabad on Thursday.

KTR further questioned the Congress party’s selective outrage. “When the ED takes action against someone else, Congress celebrates it. But when they are targeted, they cry foul,” he said, calling out what he described as double standards in Congress's approach toward investigative agencies.

Directing his comments at Rahul Gandhi, KTR added, “Rahul Gandhi should pass a resolution in their CWC (Congress Working Committee) meeting that they will scrap the ED if they come to power. If they really think that the ED is being misused, then they should promise such a resolution to the people of the country.”
