Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao has urged people to participate in the Green India Challenge by planting three saplings on February 17, commemorating the birthday of K. Chandrashekhar Rao, Telangana’s first Chief Minister and the architect of the Haritha Haram initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, KT Rama Rao highlighted KCR’s commitment to environmental conservation and his vision for a Green Telangana. “Under his leadership, Telangana has witnessed a massive afforestation drive through the Haritha Haram program. I request everyone to contribute by planting trees and taking responsibility for a greener future,” he said.

The Haritha Haram initiative, launched during KCR’s tenure, aimed at increasing the state’s forest cover and tackling climate change. Over the years, it has played a crucial role in large-scale plantation drives across Telangana.
