BRS working president KT Rama Rao has accused the Congress party of betraying farmers in Telangana by failing to honor its promise of waiving loans up to Rs 2 lakhs. Speaking at a protest, Rao highlighted that despite Congress's assurance, eight months have passed, and less than one-seventh of the promised loan waiver has been implemented.
Rao called out Congress for what he described as "cheating" the farmers, emphasizing the growing frustration among the agricultural community. He demanded that Congress issue a white paper detailing the progress of the loan waiver scheme to ensure transparency and accountability. The protest reflects the broader dissatisfaction with Congress's handling of farmer issues in the state.
