Patna, Bihar | As the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections witnessed an increased voter turnout, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Bihar BJP election co-incharge Keshav Prasad Maurya expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is heading toward a decisive victory similar to its historic performance in 2010.
Maurya credited the rising enthusiasm among voters to the public’s growing trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the BJP’s development-oriented campaign. “I believe that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and other top leaders, extensive campaigning was carried out across Bihar. But this time, more than leaders, it’s the people who have fought this election, and they have done so in favour of the BJP and NDA,” he said.
Drawing a parallel to the 2010 Bihar Assembly elections, where the NDA secured 206 seats, Maurya said the current political atmosphere echoes that same wave of support. “I had said this earlier and I’m saying it again — just like in 2010 when NDA achieved a historic result by winning 206 seats, a similar atmosphere exists in 2025. The current undercurrent indicates that NDA can repeat the 2010 result in these elections,” he remarked.
