Ludhiana, Punjab: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Monday addressed a public gathering in Ludhiana West, rallying support for AAP candidate Sanjeev Arora ahead of the upcoming by-election scheduled for June 19. The by-poll follows the untimely demise of sitting MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi in January this year.
Reflecting on the party’s 2022 Punjab Assembly election victory, Kejriwal recalled the overwhelming mandate given to AAP. “In 2022, you all voted for us in Punjab. We got 92 seats out of 117 seats. It was a historic moment,” he said.
Paying homage to the late Gurpreet Gogi, Kejriwal added, “First of all, I pray that his soul may rest in peace.” Gogi, a first-time MLA, had passed away in a tragic accident, leaving the Ludhiana West seat vacant.
With the by-poll approaching, Kejriwal emphasized the importance of choosing a representative from the ruling party for effective governance. “Now, the MLA seat is vacant and elections are being conducted on June 19th. I would urge you to vote for someone who is in government, the one who can get the work done,” he appealed to voters.
Kejriwal’s remarks were aimed at reinforcing confidence in AAP’s governance track record, urging the electorate to ensure continuity of development by electing a party-backed candidate. The event saw a significant turnout, with AAP leaders and workers mobilizing grassroots support across the constituency.
