AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal held a padyatra in Model Town, Delhi, where he spoke out against what he described as the "dirty politics" of the BJP. Kejriwal emphasized that while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is striving to serve the people, the BJP is actively working to undermine their efforts. He expressed his frustration over the current political climate, stating, “You all are witnessing the dirty politics that they (BJP) are doing in Delhi.”
Kejriwal reflected on his recent experiences, particularly his six-month imprisonment, during which he alleged that the BJP's actions caused significant suffering for the residents of Delhi. "When I was in jail, I got to know that they made you all suffer a lot," he remarked, implying that the LG, who was running the government at that time, failed to prioritize the welfare of the citizens.
The AAP leader accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of exploiting political power to obstruct the initiatives and progress that his party is trying to implement. Kejriwal's comments suggest a deepening rift between the AAP and the BJP, as he criticized the LG's government for not taking advantage of the opportunity to work towards the betterment of the city during his absence.
The padyatra aimed to connect with the public and rally support for the AAP, as Kejriwal urged residents to recognize the contrasting approaches of the two parties. He asserted that the AAP remains committed to its promise of delivering effective governance and improving the quality of life for Delhi’s residents, despite the political challenges posed by the opposition.
As the political landscape in Delhi continues to evolve, Kejriwal's remarks reflect the ongoing tensions between the AAP and the BJP, particularly as both parties prepare for upcoming electoral contests. The AAP is expected to leverage these criticisms in its campaign strategy, positioning itself as a party focused on development and the well-being of the people of Delhi.
