New Delhi — In a sharp escalation of political tensions in Kerala, Congress MP KC Venugopal has written to the President of India highlighting what he calls a "growing constitutional crisis" and a deteriorating law and order situation allegedly triggered by the conduct of the Governor’s office.
Taking to social media on Wednesday, Venugopal accused the Raj Bhavan of acting as an “obstructionist and anti-constitutional” force, claiming that the Governor is defying the norms of democratic governance by not acting on the aid and advice of the elected Council of Ministers.
“Governors are meant to act on the aid and advice of the Council of Ministers — but under the BJP regime, we see Raj Bhavans are becoming the promoters of the saffron ideology, instead of upholding the Constitution,” Venugopal wrote.
