Delhi – As Jharkhand and Maharashtra head toward assembly elections, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal voiced optimism regarding the electoral prospects for Congress and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition in Maharashtra. Speaking from Delhi, Venugopal cited widespread public discontent as a factor favoring Congress and its allies, particularly due to grievances against the current BJP-led government.

Venugopal criticized the formation of the BJP government in Maharashtra, labeling it "undemocratic" and "unconstitutional." "The BJP was not duly elected but rather split the Shiv Sena and NCP to secure power. Such political maneuvering has not resonated well with the public," he stated. According to Venugopal, the public perceives this government as lacking legitimacy, further fueling support for Congress and the MVA coalition in the upcoming elections.

Highlighting key voter groups, Venugopal asserted that farmers, youth, and women feel increasingly marginalized under BJP's governance. "Farmers struggle with inadequate policies, the youth face mounting unemployment, and women’s concerns have been overlooked," he added, stressing the Congress-led coalition’s commitment to addressing these issues and restoring democratic governance.

In Jharkhand, Venugopal condemned what he described as BJP's "political vendetta" targeting Chief Minister Hemant Soren. He suggested that BJP’s actions are an attempt to destabilize the state’s administration. "The way BJP has focused its attacks on Hemant Soren demonstrates their willingness to undermine democracy for political gain," he argued.

Venugopal's comments reflect the Congress party's intensified campaigning and opposition stance, portraying BJP's governance as politically motivated and detrimental to the welfare of the people. With these elections on the horizon, the Congress hopes that a strong grassroots campaign, aligned with the MVA's efforts in Maharashtra, will resonate with voters seeking change.
