JAMMU: BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta defended the Jammu and Kashmir administration's recent dismissal of government employees allegedly linked to terrorist activities. Speaking to reporters, Gupta emphasized the government's "zero tolerance" policy toward such associations.
"People involved in this network of terrorists have been sacked on the basis of zero tolerance," Gupta stated. He underscored the importance of identifying individuals working against national interests, adding, "There is a great need to identify such people who work against the country. The sacking of two employees will serve as a lesson for others, and there will be a decrease in terror activities."
On the issue of India potentially participating in the Champions Trophy in Pakistan, Gupta expressed strong opposition. He highlighted the risks posed by Pakistan’s alleged support for terrorism and militancy. "This tough stand is a welcome step. Pakistan wants to spread militancy in India and send terrorists here," he said.
Gupta warned that sending Indian players to Pakistan could send the wrong message to the people of India. "Sending our people to their country will send a wrong message which the people of our country will not tolerate. Building relationships with Pakistan is futile," he remarked.
Gupta’s comments reflect the BJP's firm stance on national security and its critical view of any engagement with Pakistan, particularly in the current geopolitical climate.
