Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annpurna Devi on Wednesday highlighted the cultural and linguistic significance of the ongoing Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0, calling it a powerful symbol of India’s civilisational unity. Speaking in Delhi, the minister said the programme is designed around the theme “India Must Learn from India,” underscoring the need to strengthen appreciation for India’s diverse languages and shared heritage.
Devi said the initiative is much more than a cultural festival—it is an expression of the country’s deep-rooted civilisational links connecting the northern city of Kashi with Tamil-speaking regions of the South. “Kashi Tamil Sangamam is not just a cultural program, but also a celebration of India’s ancient civilisation, which connects North and South with each other,” she said. The event, she added, reflects the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, a vision championed by the Prime Minister to promote national integration through cultural exchange.
