Bengaluru, March 4: Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge has strongly criticized the BJP, accusing the party of misusing funds meant for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes under the Scheduled Castes Sub-Plan (SCSP) and Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP). He questioned why the funds were being used for industrial and telecom incentives instead of benefiting marginalized communities.
"I have posed a few questions to them (BJP). Why didn't they protest when PM Modi weakened the SEP-TSP Act of the Planning Commission? Why are central SEP and TSP acts being used for production-linked incentives? Why is it being used for semiconductors? Why is it being used for compensating telecom operators?" Kharge said.
He further targeted the Madhya Pradesh government for allegedly diverting Dalit and Adivasi welfare funds towards cow protection. "How is it that the Madhya Pradesh government is using money meant for Dalits and Adivasis for the protection of cows? Is the value of the life of a cow more important than the value of Dalits and Adivasis in Madhya Pradesh?" he asked.
