Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Friday announced that a planned visit to the Tungabhadra Dam was postponed due to challenges identified in a technical report concerning land acquisition. Speaking from Vijayanagara, Shivakumar explained that the complexities around acquiring land made the visit difficult at this time.

“The Tungabhadra Dam’s water is shared among three states, and we remain fully committed to ensuring fair and equitable water distribution,” Shivakumar said. He stressed that the priority is to benefit the common people across all three states relying on the dam’s resources.
