Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar Calls for Change in Apex Bank Leadership, Speaks on Sandalwood Growth

Bengaluru, March 4: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has indicated a leadership change at the state’s Apex Bank, stating that discussions have taken place within the Congress party and with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

"We have to discuss the Apex Bank. We want to change the Apex Bank president. The Congress party has discussed this; we have also discussed this with the CM," Shivakumar said, signaling an imminent leadership reshuffle in the cooperative banking sector.

In a separate remark, he addressed the rapid growth of the Sandalwood industry, urging that no political advantage be drawn from it. "Sandalwood is growing a lot... Let's not let anyone take any political advantage out of it. Water, air, and fire are all for every religion. So, there is no caste and creed in water, air, land, sun, everything," he said.
