Bengaluru: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Thursday acknowledged the presence of potholes in Bengaluru, while criticizing the previous BJP government for failing to address the city’s infrastructure issues over the past three years.
“Yes, there are potholes, I have seen them. The BJP government could not do anything in three years, not even small work, and we will try to do everything,” Shivakumar said, responding to concerns raised by residents regarding road conditions.
Shivakumar further pointed to financial constraints, stating that Bengaluru did not receive adequate funding from the central government despite the city contributing substantial taxes. He urged the BJP to recognize the shortfall in allocations that hindered development and maintenance of roads.
