Kalaburagi: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday arrived at Kalaburagi airport to assess the damage caused by recent floods in the Bhima coastal areas. Upon arrival, the CM held a preliminary meeting at the airport to receive detailed reports on the situation.
Following the meeting, Siddaramaiah, accompanied by Ministers M.B. Patil, Krishna Byre Gowda, and Priyank Kharge, undertook the first round of aerial surveys to assess the extent of flood-related damage, particularly to agricultural fields and infrastructure.
Officials said the aerial surveys aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the areas worst affected and help authorities plan relief and rehabilitation measures efficiently. A second round of aerial inspection focusing on crop damage in Bidar district is scheduled for around 2:30 p.m., officials added.
