Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP president BY Vijayendra has raised questions over the surrender of six Naxalites in the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, accusing the state government of orchestrating a "pre-planned drama." Speaking on the issue, Vijayendra questioned the need for the Chief Minister to invite the Naxalites to his residence or office for the surrender.
“BJP doesn't oppose the surrender of Naxalites. But, why was it necessary for the CM to invite the Naxalites to his house or office?” Vijayendra asked, adding that such actions send the wrong signal.
He also pointed out the absence of confiscated weapons as a significant gap in the process. “Where are the weapons? Even today, the police have not been able to confiscate the weapons of these Naxalites,” Vijayendra said.
