Kanpur, May 22 — Aishanya Dwivedi, the wife of Shubham Dwivedi who was killed in the recent Pahalgam terror attack, has expressed strong support for India's anti-terror efforts under Operation Sindoor and called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to officially recognise her husband as a martyr.
Speaking to reporters in Kanpur, Aishanya said her family had two primary demands: “We had two key demands — first, to end terrorism, and second, to confer ‘Shaheed’ (martyr) status on Shubham.”
She lauded the Indian Armed Forces for their swift and decisive response, saying, “I am fully satisfied with the way our armed forces are combating terrorism. I stand firmly with our soldiers and have full confidence in their capabilities. Prime Minister Modi has empowered them by giving a free hand to act.”
Aishanya also emphasized the symbolic and emotional importance of officially recognising her husband’s sacrifice. “My second demand is to recognise Shubham as a ‘Shaheed’. He was targeted and killed simply for being a Hindu in a Hindu-majority nation. He is a martyr, and we now await a decision from PM Modi on this matter.”
