New Delhi — Congress leader and former JNU student union president Kanhaiya Kumar has weighed in on the political landscape ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, asserting that the next Chief Minister will naturally emerge from the party that wins the most seats, which he expects will be the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
“There’s no doubt that the Chief Minister will be decided by the people. Whoever has the majority will form the government,” Kumar said in a statement posted on his official handle (@kanhaiyakumar). “Naturally, RJD will contest and win more seats, so the Chief Minister will be from RJD.”
Kanhaiya dismissed any speculation of internal discord within the opposition Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance), asserting that there is no confusion or crisis in the alliance’s leadership. He described Tejashwi Yadav as the “most prominent face” of the coalition and reiterated that the process of government formation would follow democratic norms.
In contrast, he said the real confusion lies within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). “There is confusion about who will contest how many seats, and whether Nitish Ji will be the face of the Chief Minister or not,” he remarked, alluding to growing speculation and tensions within the BJP-JD(U) alliance regarding leadership and seat-sharing dynamics.
