Mandi: Actor-turned-politician and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut on Monday welcomed the implementation of the revised Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates, describing the reforms as a celebration of savings and national progress.
“We are celebrating this as a 'Bachat Utsav' to encourage people across the country. This will be a landmark step in realizing the dream of a developed India (Viksit Bharat),” Ranaut said while addressing a gathering in her constituency.
She emphasised that the reductions in GST rates not only provide direct relief to households but also reinforce the government’s call for self-reliance. “With the reduction in GST, the Prime Minister has emphasized Swadeshi and promoted spending on products made with the hard work of our country’s youth,” she noted.
Highlighting her personal choice of attire, Ranaut pointed to her khadi saree as a symbol of India’s cultural and economic strength. “The khadi saree I am wearing embodies the essence of our nation’s soil,” she said, linking traditional craftsmanship with modern economic policy.
