RANCHI: Moments after Hemant Soren was sworn in as the 14th Chief Minister of Jharkhand, his wife and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Kalpana Soren expressed confidence in his leadership and commitment to addressing the state’s challenges.
Speaking to reporters, Kalpana Soren said, “It’s a mandate which is given by the people of Jharkhand, and we have happily accepted it. There are so many challenges still there.”
Highlighting Hemant Soren’s deep connection to the state, she added, “Being a brother and son of Jharkhand, I think that Hemant will fulfill all the aspirations to have a thriving Jharkhand.”
Hemant Soren’s swearing-in ceremony marked the beginning of his new tenure, supported by the JMM-led coalition, which secured a decisive mandate in the recent elections. The ceremony was attended by political leaders, supporters, and key stakeholders from across the country.
The Chief Minister faces numerous challenges ahead, including improving rural development, addressing unemployment, ensuring the welfare of tribal communities, and bolstering the state’s infrastructure.
