Chennai, Tamil Nadu – BJP state president K. Annamalai launched a scathing attack on the DMK government, accusing it of creating a "drama" involving the Governor to divert public attention from pressing issues, including the Anna University molestation case. Speaking to the media, Annamalai strongly criticized the state government and police for their inaction and alleged attempts to shield wrongdoers.

“DMK has chosen to create an artificial drama in the name of the Governor as they want to divert the issue away from the Anna University molestation case. The police have covered itself only with shame,” Annamalai said. He further accused the ruling party of undermining democratic principles through its methods of protest. “DMK party is covering itself with the same every day by stooping too low in a democracy, which I condemn,” he added.

Annamalai also raised concerns about the lack of police action regarding the allegations, suggesting complicity with the ruling party. “Why is the police not taking any action and passively cheering up the DMK to stick a poster? We strictly condemn the nature of protest,” he said.
