Kondagaon, Chhattisgarh | National Judo player Hemvati Nag, who hails from the Naxal-affected region of Kondagaon in Chhattisgarh, shared her journey and aspirations after being honored with the prestigious Prime Minister’s National Child Award.

Speaking about her introduction to the sport, Hemvati said, "I started learning Judo in 2021 when I went to the hostel. My ma'am recommended it to me and got me into an academy, and since then, I have been motivated."

Despite coming from a challenging background, Hemvati’s dedication and hard work have propelled her onto the national stage. Her achievements in judo stand as a testament to her resilience and determination.

Expressing her long-term goals, Hemvati shared her dream of representing India on the global stage. "It is my dream to win an Olympic medal and make my country proud," she said, exuding confidence and hope.
