JMM MP Mahua Maji Criticizes Finance Minister’s Budget Reply, Highlights Opposition-Ruling Party Divide

Delhi | Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MP Mahua Maji criticized Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s reply to the Budget discussion in the Rajya Sabha, alleging contradictions in her statements and a lack of understanding between the ruling party and opposition.

Speaking to the media after the session, Maji said, “She (Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman) has accused many MPs of presenting facts in a distorted manner. However, there were many contradictions between what the Finance Minister said and the facts presented by the MPs.”

Maji emphasized that the opposition had raised critical issues concerning economic policies, allocations, and governance, but instead of addressing them with clarity, the Finance Minister chose to dismiss their concerns. “I think there is a gap between the ruling party and the opposition in understanding each other’s point of view,” she added.
