Jammu: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed strong confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) victory in the Nagrota by-election, describing it as a reflection of the people’s faith in the region’s ongoing development. Addressing a gathering in Jammu, Dr. Singh said that the BJP treats every election not just as a contest but as an opportunity to connect with citizens and share the government’s achievements.
“The BJP’s victory here is assured. It is the character and practice of the BJP that for us, elections remain an opportunity for public outreach,” he remarked. Emphasizing the transformation in Nagrota over the past decade, the minister recalled how the area, once considered backward and neglected, has witnessed unprecedented progress.
“It is necessary for us to explain to the youth because perhaps they may not know what the situation was here before 2002. Nagrota used to be a very backward and remote area,” he said, adding that successive governments had discriminated against the region.
