Ranchi: Jharkhand's Chief Election Officer, K Ravi Kumar, addressed the media following the conclusion of the first phase of the state assembly elections on November 13. Kumar confirmed that voting had taken place peacefully across 43 assembly constituencies. He assured that all Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) had been safely secured in strong rooms and sealed, marking the completion of the first phase of voting.
With preparations underway for the second phase of elections, scheduled for November 20, Kumar emphasized that the Election Commission is focused on ensuring the smooth and secure conduct of the next round of voting. The second phase will involve 1.23 crore eligible voters and 257 candidates competing for legislative positions.
In anticipation of the elections, Kumar highlighted the importance of maintaining a peaceful and orderly environment and stated that proper security arrangements are being made to safeguard voters and election officials. The Election Commission is committed to upholding transparency and fairness in the electoral process as it moves towards the next phase of voting in the state.
