Patna: Janata Dal (United) leader Neeraj Kumar on Sunday expressed concern over RJD leader Rohini Acharya’s decision to quit politics and publicly distance herself from her family, urging Lalu Prasad Yadav to address the internal discord that has now spilled into the political domain. Acharya, who had earlier donated a kidney to her ailing father, has alleged mistreatment within the family, prompting sharp criticism from rivals.

Kumar said Rohini was not just a political figure, but a daughter who made an extraordinary sacrifice. “Rohini Acharya is a daughter who saved her father's life. A daughter is Lakshmi. Insulting her has never been part of our tradition,” he said. Questioning the silence of senior RJD leaders, he asked, “Why are Lalu Yadav and Rabri Devi silent on this?”

The JDU leader recalled earlier tensions involving Lalu Prasad’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav’s estranged wife Aishwarya Rai. “This is the second incident. It happened with Aishwarya first and now with Rohini,” he said, arguing that the recurrence of such episodes raises questions about the family environment at the top of the RJD.

“These tears will cost Lalu Yadav very dearly,” Kumar warned. “He should not become the ‘Dhritarashtra’ of politics, and must expose the one who is at fault.”
