Patna: Janata Dal (United) leader Neeraj Kumar on Wednesday reacted sharply to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s remarks citing a media report on political donations in Gujarat. The report, Gandhi claimed, indicated that “anonymous parties” received donations worth ₹4,300 crore between 2019-20 and 2023-24. He questioned whether the Election Commission would investigate the matter or demand affidavits.
Responding to this, Kumar said Gandhi should avoid making statements without credible evidence. “Rahul Gandhi should speak on the basis of evidence… Speak up about Bihar as well, where your ally party during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections was linked to alcohol companies,” the JD(U) leader remarked.
The exchange highlights the ongoing political tussle between the Congress and its opponents, as Gandhi continues to target the BJP over electoral funding and transparency. His remarks have sparked debate over the role of money in politics and the accountability of parties in disclosing their sources of funding.
