Patna: Responding to remarks by RJD leader Sunil Singh, Janata Dal (United) spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad on Wednesday lashed out at the RJD, accusing the party of anticipating defeat and attempting to discredit the electoral process.
“These (RJD) people have already lost... What expectations can you have from those who are known for jungle raj?” Prasad said, asserting that the opposition party’s statements reflect desperation rather than confidence.
He alleged that the RJD routinely resorts to creating controversies when it foresees electoral losses. “Wherever their defeat seems certain, these people start creating a ruckus... They will surely pin the blame for the defeat on the Election Commission,” he remarked.
Prasad urged all parties to respect the democratic process and accept the people’s verdict. “The people's mandate should be accepted... However, they (RJD) are aware that results for them will be even worse than 2010,” he said, emphasizing that the election had been conducted transparently.
“The public has voted fearlessly, and the Election Commission has succeeded in conducting fair elections,” Prasad added, reiterating JD(U)’s confidence that voters have rejected RJD’s “politics of fear and chaos.”
