Patna | Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Jha on Saturday highlighted the drastic improvement in Bihar’s law and order situation, contrasting the present environment with what he described as the state’s dark past of crime and instability.

Speaking on the issue of election phases and governance, Jha said, “Earlier, elections were held in six phases and used to go on for two months. Now, even Naxalism has ended over here, and the law and order situation is so good that our party had demanded for only one phase.”

He recalled a time when kidnappings and extortion were rampant in the state. “Earlier, children were kidnapped from schools. Doctors and industrialists were kidnapped, and calls were made from the houses of politicians in Patna for ransom,” he said, pointing to the transformation that has occurred under successive administrations.

Jha also launched a veiled attack on the opposition, alleging that “criminal icons of that time” continue to enjoy political backing. “Even today, these people are with the same people who for years defamed Bihar in the country and the world,” he said.
