DELHI – JDU leader Rajiv Ranjan Prasad has strongly responded to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks labeling the Bihar caste census as “fake.” Speaking on the matter, Prasad defended Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s decision to conduct the caste census, calling it one of the most significant steps taken during Kumar’s 20-year tenure.

“During the 20 years tenure of Nitish Kumar, the caste census is one of the important decisions he has taken. Based on this caste census, economically backward 94 lakh families in Bihar are being given financial assistance of up to Rs 2 lakhs,” Prasad said, emphasizing the positive impact the census has had on the state's welfare programs.

Prasad further criticized Rahul Gandhi for his remarks, suggesting that the Congress leader should reflect on his party’s own track record. “Rahul Gandhi should also speak about their (Congress) tenure of 55 years, what they did for reservation, and what they did regarding caste census,” Prasad added, pointing to the lack of significant action from Congress on these issues.
