Shimla: Jairam Thakur, Leader of the Opposition in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, has strongly criticized the state government for auctioning the Himachal Bhawan in Delhi, a move he called highly unfortunate.
Thakur remarked, "I think they should stop talking about the previous government. In Himachal Pradesh, under their government, even prestigious places like Himachal Bhawan, which hold great significance for us, are being auctioned. This is the most unfortunate situation."
The Himachal Bhawan, a key property used by the state government for official and hospitality purposes in Delhi, has been a symbol of Himachal Pradesh's presence in the national capital. Thakur's remarks come amidst growing concern over the state government's financial troubles and its inability to pay dues.
Criticizing the current government's handling of the situation, Thakur urged the state administration to focus on resolving the issues at hand instead of constantly blaming the previous government. His comments have stirred a debate regarding the management of state assets and financial resources.
The BJP has raised concerns about the state government's inability to manage its finances, with the auction of the Himachal Bhawan seen as a symbol of the state's fiscal mismanagement. Thakur’s statements reflect the BJP's ongoing criticism of the Congress-led government in Himachal Pradesh
