Shimla | Himachal Pradesh’s political landscape witnessed a fresh round of accusations as Leader of Opposition (LoP) Jairam Thakur slammed Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu for allegedly misleading the public regarding the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs). Thakur claimed that the CM had been making false statements about the status of DPRs for opposition MLAs.
"It feels strange when the CM of the state lies time and again," Thakur said, adding, "Why does he think that an elected representative knows nothing?" He clarified that the opposition had boycotted the meeting on MLA priorities because the DPRs of opposition MLAs had not been prepared during the last two years of the Congress government.
Thakur further alleged that the Chief Minister was referring to DPRs that were prepared during the BJP government. "I talked to the officials. In the last two years, since Sukhu became the Chief Minister, the DPR has not been prepared and reached Shimla," he claimed.
Highlighting his concerns, Thakur asked, "We are asking you how many DPRs of opposition MLAs have been prepared in 2 years?" He concluded by accusing Sukhu of lying and misleading the public on the matter.
