Delhi: Congress MP Jairam Ramesh on Sunday outlined the key issues his party plans to raise during the upcoming Winter Session of Parliament, accusing the government of evading accountability on crucial national and economic matters. Speaking to reporters, Ramesh said that the session will see debates on topics ranging from foreign policy to domestic governance, highlighting what he described as “a pattern of silence and inaction” by the Modi administration.

“A major issue will be the SIR issue. The Prime Minister’s silence on Trump’s statements is a major issue. The current relationship with China is unresolved—there hasn’t been a border agreement, and we haven’t returned to the previous situation,” Ramesh said. He added that ongoing negotiations between India and China were being conducted “based on the new normal that China has established,” a situation he called deeply concerning.

Ramesh also pointed to the slowing economy and rising unemployment as pressing matters requiring urgent debate. “There is no shortage of issues—the rate of economic growth, GDP, and unemployment are major concerns. We keep issuing notices again and again, but no action is ever taken on them. The government does whatever it wants,” he remark
