Busan (South Korea): Indian Naval Ship Sahyadri, currently on an operational deployment to the South China Sea and Indo-Pacific, arrived at Busan Naval Harbour on 13 October 2025 to participate in the maiden India–Republic of Korea (ROK) Bilateral Naval Exercise.

The exercise marks a new chapter in India–ROK maritime cooperation, reflecting both nations’ shared commitment to ensuring regional peace, security, and stability in the Indo-Pacific. During the visit, the ship’s crew will take part in both harbour and sea phases of the exercise.

The harbour phase will include reciprocal cross-deck visits, professional exchanges, cross-training sessions, and friendly sporting events between personnel of the Indian Navy (IN) and the Republic of Korea Navy (RoKN). The Commanding Officer of Sahyadri is also scheduled to call on senior RoKN officials and local dignitaries.

Following the harbour activities, INS Sahyadri and ROKS Gyeongnam will conduct joint naval drills at sea, focusing on seamanship, communication, and coordinated manoeuvres. The engagement is expected to enhance mutual understanding, interoperability, and cooperation between the two navies in the broader Indo-Pacific region.
