Kupwara: Acting on specific intelligence, the Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police conducted a joint operation on 8th October in the Brijthor Forest area of Warsun, Kupwara, resulting in the discovery of a significant militants’ hideout.

According to the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army, the search operation led to the recovery of two AK series rifles, four rocket launchers, and a substantial quantity of ammunition and other war-like materials. Officials said the seizure was part of ongoing efforts to disrupt militant infrastructure in the region.

The recovered weapons and ammunition were described as being capable of facilitating high-intensity attacks. The joint operation highlights continued collaboration between the Army and local police to enhance security along sensitive border areas and prevent the movement and stockpiling of arms by terrorist groups.
