In a strong call for collaborative progress, Lt Gen A S Aujla, Master General Sustenance (MGS) of the Indian Army, urged India’s industrial sector to march in step with the armed forces to meet the evolving demands of a rapidly transforming nation. He made this appeal during an ‘Industry Interactive Session’ organized by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry at PHD House in New Delhi.
“Global dynamics are changing, India is also changing—and so are the armed forces,” said Lt Gen Aujla, stressing the interconnected nature of national growth and security. “When we are changing and we have got boots on ground, we want equal boots on ground on the shop floor as well. So, let us not walk separately, let us march together.”
The statement reflects a growing recognition within the armed forces of the crucial role the private sector plays in ensuring self-reliance, innovation, and technological advancement in defense production and logistics. It also underscores the Indian Army's proactive approach to engaging with industry stakeholders as part of its broader Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) vision.
