India Sends Medical Aid to Sierra Leone to Strengthen Healthcare Infrastructure

India has dispatched 15 haemodialysis machines, portable RO units, and consumable kits to Sierra Leone as part of its humanitarian assistance, reaffirming its commitment to South-South cooperation and global health.

New Delhi: India has sent a consignment of critical medical equipment, including haemodialysis machines and portable RO units, to Sierra Leone as part of its ongoing efforts to support healthcare systems in partner nations through South-South cooperation.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal announced the initiative on X, saying, “A gesture of solidarity and South-South Cooperation. India has dispatched a consignment of 15 Haemo-Dialysis Machines, along with Portable RO Units and Consumable Kits, from Mundra Port to Sierra Leone. This humanitarian assistance underscores India’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving public health outcomes in Sierra Leone.”

The assistance reflects India’s broader vision of fostering development partnerships with countries in Africa and the Global South. Officials said the medical equipment will help enhance Sierra Leone’s capacity to treat patients with renal ailments and improve access to life-saving healthcare services.
