Patna, Bihar, June 14 — Senior BJP leader and MP Ravi Shankar Prasad took a sharp dig at Pakistan during a public address, contrasting the economic and geopolitical trajectories of the two countries since their independence in 1947. Speaking to the media and party workers, Prasad said, “Pakistan and India were born on the same date in 1947. Today, India is the fourth-largest economy in the world, whereas Pakistan is going around begging with a bowl in its hand.”
Prasad’s remarks come amid ongoing national debates on internal security and recent counter-terror operations carried out by Indian security forces. Addressing the criticism surrounding the name of a recent military operation, Operation Sindoor, the BJP MP said, “We were asked during an all-party delegation visit why the operation was named 'Operation Sindoor'. We responded — the 'sindoor' of our daughters and sisters was wiped off, so we named it 'Operation Sindoor' to destroy those terrorists.”
