The Department of Posts emphasized the enduring relevance of postal services—from delivering essential communication and financial solutions to serving as a trusted public access point in even the remotest corners of India.

To commemorate the day, Shri Ashok Kumar, Chief Postmaster General, West Bengal Circle, unveiled a Special Philatelic Cover with cancellation during a ceremony at the Kolkata GPO. The cover artistically portrays the transformation of India Post—from messages carried by pigeons to the modern concept of drone delivery—reflecting its evolution through technology and time.
