New Delhi: Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s phone call to U.S. President Donald Trump, in which he reportedly clarified that Operation Sindoor was 'paused' at Pakistan’s request, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Manoj Jha on Wednesday raised serious concerns over India’s global image management and urged for greater transparency and assertiveness in international messaging.

Speaking to reporters, Jha said, “There is a need for PR management on a global level. Why would India demand anything? President Trump has mentioned it 15 times, making India the topic.” He was referring to Trump’s repeated public claims over the past weeks about the U.S. playing a mediation or interventionist role between India and Pakistan.

Jha questioned the government’s silence over these claims and urged stronger communication protocols. “Communication should be about what makes you [President Trump] make those statements and get away with it. We need to confront that narrative,” he added.

The RJD leader, however, emphasized unity in the face of international developments, saying, “All parliamentarians will stand united with PM Modi in such a situation.” He called for clarity in what was communicated during the Modi-Trump call, especially on the rationale and diplomatic fallout of halting Operation Sindoor.
