B. Sudershan Reddy
By A Staff Reporter
Delhi: INDIA bloc’s Vice Presidential candidate B. Sudershan Reddy on Wednesday defended Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s recent remarks highlighting ideological differences with the ruling party. Reddy said that such differences are a normal feature of a democracy, where competing political forces are shaped by distinct beliefs and principles.
Reddy stated that India’s dominant political party represents a particular ideology, and there is no concealment of that fact. In contrast, he added, Kharge represents a completely different ideological tradition, which explains the Congress leader’s comments. According to Reddy, this divergence of outlook is not unusual but inherent to the functioning of a pluralistic political system.
The statement comes as the country prepares for the upcoming Vice Presidential election, where Reddy has been fielded as the joint candidate of the INDIA bloc. His remarks appear aimed at reinforcing the alliance’s position that political differences should be viewed through the lens of ideology rather than controversy.
