IDF says reservist commando officer killed in Gaza

BY A STAFF REPORTER: The IDF today announced the death of a reserve member killed during fighting in the northern Gaza Strip, bringing the number of soldiers killed in ground operations against Hamas to 224.

The soldier killed was identified as Major (retd) Itzer Hoffman, 36, commander of the Israeli Air Force's elite Shaldag unit.
